National Consultation Workshop on Youth Engagement in Climate Change

As environment activist we should know climate change on Human right perspective.” Said Md. Biozid Jessorey, executive Director Center for Human Development during his presentation on Environment and Climate Change: Human Right Perspective.

National Consultation Workshop on Youth Engagement in Climate Change has held at the auditorium of Women Voluntary Association (WVA), Dhaka, Bangladesh at 29-30 July 2008. There are 120 youth from different organization has attended the workshop.

In the inaugural session S. M. Rashed Ahmed, Ex-Ambassador, KOSOVO and in closing session Raja Debashish Roy, Special Assistant to the Hon'ble Chief Adviser, Ministry of CHT, Environment and Forest were the chief guest. Mr. Aminul Islam, Assistant Country Director (Environment), UNDP, Bangladesh, Mr. Enam Ahmed Chowdhury, Ex-Chairman, Privatization Commission, Mr. Rezaul Kabir, Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forest Mr. Gopal Kumar Jain, Program Coordinator, SAYEN Secretariat, Center for Environment Education, India were present as the special Guests Mr. Dulal Biswas, Secretary General, NFYOB presided over the event.

This two-day workshop is organized by the South Asia Youth Environment Network (SAYEN)-Bangladesh. SAYEN Bd is a national collation of youth organization working on environment. Center for Human Development is one of the partners of it. Other partner of this coalition is NFYOB, Dhakabashi Organization, Save the Youth Forum, Youth Against Hunger, DEBTEC, SHAKKHOR Education and Environment Society, Youth Ending Hunger and Green Voice. UNEP Regional Office, Asia and the Pacific has support this event as financial partner.
